Paul Marxen Death, Obituary – A serious two-vehicle crash near Bird Island, Minnesota, has left 65-year-old Paul Marxen of rural Bird Island with significant injuries, according to the Renville County Sheriff’s Office. The incident, which occurred on Saturday afternoon, has drawn concern from the local community as investigators continue to determine exactly how the collision took place.
Authorities reported that the crash happened at approximately 2:11 p.m. at an intersection about two miles northwest of Bird Island. Marxen was operating a side-by-side utility vehicle traveling westbound on 830th Avenue when he entered the intersection with Renville County Road 3. At that same time, a water truck driven by a 55-year-old man from North Branch was traveling northbound on County Road 3.
The side-by-side reportedly collided with the side of the truck, resulting in a serious impact. Emergency information released by the sheriff’s office confirmed that Marxen sustained significant injuries in the crash. He was transported to Olivia Hospital & Clinic by private party for urgent medical treatment.
The driver of the water truck was not injured in the collision.
